Our Faith

Hey.

I'm glad you've found this site. My name is Mark Macdonald, and I'm currently serving as the bishop of the Provo Peak 3rd Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This site serves as a "billboard" for my thoughts and is not an official church website. I am only one of over 26,000 such bishops - I do not speak on behalf of the entire Church officially. My authority is localized to only 12 city blocks in downtown Provo, Utah, but I hope my thoughts are meaningful to others as well.

I suspect that the vast majority of those who ever visit this site are already members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and have a secure understanding of what it is. But, I realize that the Internet is a worldwide, public medium, so some of you might be wondering a bit about what's going on here.

The best place to go to find out more about the Church is Mormon.org. Alternatively, if you like straight-forward bite-sized videos, the un-officially produced "Mormons Made Simple" series is also a helpful resource.

Our religion is essentially the message contained in this video below. "We talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, ... that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." (A quote from the Book of Mormon) We authoritatively hold the priesthood of God, and thereby have the ability to prepare people to return to live with God, in a simple and effective way. I'd invite you to look into it.
